SAINT AGNES
ANNOUNCE LIVE DATE WITH BAD FOR LAZARUS
AND EIGHTEEN NIGHTMARES AT THE LUX
THE BOSTON MUSIC ROOM, TUFFNEL PARK
FEB 25th
‘The raw chemistry proves as potent as ever as they dish out a grinding splurge of defiant rock n’ roll graffiti’ – Q Magazine
‘A stomping, snarling piece of psych rock, there’s an electricity running through the track, an indefinable chemistry which draws on the spirit of Jim Morrison’ – Clash
‘Saint Agnes make raw yet accessible, blues driven psychish rock. A rock act to watch in 2015’ – Fred Perry Subculture
Cinematic, psych rock four piece Saint Agnes released their first 2 singles last year via visceral London label Energy Snake Records, selling out their debut show in the capital and gaining support from the likes of Steve Lamacq in the process. To mark the end of the first chapter, the band gathered deep beneath the City of London in a basement studio (Offtape Studios) to record four, ‘live in the studio’ versions of their double A-sides, ‘Old Bone Rattle’ and ‘A Beautiful Day for Murder’.
With a no frills, old school studio session with accompanying videos, ‘Live Under London’ attempts to capture the raw energy of their live performances – dirty, loud and explosive. They were filmed and edited by fellow east London rocker and good friend Jennifer O’Neil (Bleech.)
Saint Agnes are fronted by founding members Jon Tufnell of The Lost Souls Club and Lola Colt’s Kitty Austen and they are joined by no-nonsense bass and drums powerhouse Matt Devine and Ben Chernett. With more material and live dates in the pipeline, they look ready to pick up the psyche-rock mantle and make 2015 their own.
