Sylvan Esso have announced their first UK Festival show of 2015, with the band appearing at Field Day on Saturday 6th June.

The band headline the Scala on February 26th, and to celebrate the sell out show – and Field Day announcement – they’re released a tasty new remix of their single Play It Right by WYE OAK.

Wye Oak remix of Sylvan Esso ‘Play It Right’.

One of the most blogged artists of 2014, a Billboard Top 40 album, an appearance on the Tonight Show with
?uestlove on drums, and an endorsement from non-other than Lindsey Buckingham, Sylvan Esso have emerged as one of the hottest properties in leftfield pop.

With an addictive blend of inventive ear-worms and unexpected dance-floor bangers, including Hey Mami, Coffee and Play It Right Sylvan Esso’s debut reached the Billboard Top 40, and was an album of the year at Drowned In Sound, NPR and FACT Magazine.  One of THE buzz bands of SxSW, their UK support slots earlier this year with tUnE-yArDs, Wye Oak and Tycho saw fans flock to venues early doors, before their own sell out tour in the UK in October.  The duo return next year to headline London’s Scala on 26th February.

“The silken sounds of Sylvan Esso are a cut above… the duo’s debut LP is a summer essential.”  – NME 8/10
“Each track sparkles with a playful inventiveness… impossible to resist”  – Q Magazine ****
“Sophisticated, urbane but very moving, one of the most original things we’ve heard this year.” – MIXMAG 8/10
“A glistening ability to conjure emotion and capture a melody.”  – Loud & Quiet 8/10
“Forthright electronic soul, with a real sense of purpose, character and gusto.”  – DJ Magazine
