2014 has been a busy year for Luke Barham, who works under his moniker of Uncle Luc, this year has saw him release a debut album, direct a short film, start a record label and play countless shows up and down the country(and beyond!) all within a year of his previous band ‘Stagecoach’ splitting up. Radio support came from Huw Stephens (Radio 1) Dermot O’Leary (Radio 2) and John Kennedy (XFM) and Luc shared a stage with the likes of Laura Viers and Luke Sital Singh. Not bad all inside eleven months! Uncle Luc is a name you’ve already heard a lot of via this site in the past year but Luke has no intentions of slowing down, this talent is simply bursting with potential and is eager to capture his momentum.

‘Christmas 1994’ recalls festive seasons of yesteryear referencing Home Alone, his first guitar and Tasmin Archer’s Sleeping Satellite along the way. The song features the pedal steel talents of UK Country legend BJ Cole (Elton John, First Aid Kit, Beck, Bjork). The composition captures Luke’s craft in all its essence- Uncle Luc has the ability to capture his emotions in the most honest way. His deliverance resonating his sincerity.

On the flipside is coming of age tale ‘Ice Cream’ a moody slice of powerpop recalling the sound of Rockpile and George Harrison. Ice Cream is a delectable arrangement showcasing Luke’s eminent vocal efforts, fused with propulsive guitar riffs and an addictive tone.

Luke will be playing two final shows this year. Catch him performing the new single alongside songs from his debut album ‘HUMBLEBRAG.

‘DECEMBER 17TH -THE ISLINGTON, LONDON
DECEMBER 27TH -THE SPICE OF LIFE, LONDON

Look out for the extended version of ‘HUMBLEBRAG’ with five bonus tracks coming soon on cassette via US label ‘Wiener Records’.
