Set for release on 8th December, Esco William’s Reflections EP is a 4 track collection, written at the very point of inspiration. Events and experiences, portrayed with empathy over apathy, and a creative honesty that cuts to the quick.
Esco is leading songwriting and production talent, at the very forefront of new independent pop and soul. While his songwriting skills have been put into action for buzzing new vocal harmony group MiC LOWRY, Esco’s own music – a tender and delicate application of R&B, Soul and Gospel – has seen support from through BBC 1Xtra and 6Music, and Radio 1.
Born in Liverpool, of Jamaican and Irish heritage, this is a voice marbled with the language of struggle, longing and faith. The EP leads of with jewel of polished R&B and Soul, ‘Oh Jordan’ – a recent Radio 1 playlisted single – appears here remixed and remastered. A crystal clear contemporary spiritual, with a cryptic message about conflict and reconciliation.
Track two is the new single Warriors, a song searching for the back bone of Generation Y, a reflection on passive aggression and misdirected dissent in the age of austerity. Lost is a heartbreaking ballad on a bed of glitchy R&B, that flows into the dramatic piano led finale Breaking Bones. A four track EP that distills the essential elements of voice and song, evidence of a talent set for big things.
1) Oh Jordan
4) Breaking Bones
