The Voice UK’s Adam Barron is announced as the new lead singer with Mick Ralphs Blues Band ahead of Hereford gig

Blues Rock legend, Mick Ralphs and his band are thrilled to announce the appointment of their new lead singer, Adam Barron, who will be joining them for all of their UK dates this winter; a tour which ends in Ralphs’ hometown Hereford, at The Jailhouse.

Adam comes with a background in classic blues-rock with a set of pipes that you’ve really got to hear. He has built a following, in his own right, following his successful run on BBC’s The Voice UK, in 2013.

“I am incredibly excited to get to work with the man who, with Bad Company and others, wrote the songs I fell in love with years ago, and look forward to stepping into the shoes of many incredible frontmen and singers he has worked with over the years,” said Adam. “I’m up for the challenge and can’t wait to get started.”

The Mick Ralphs Blues Band formed in 2011 and as well as Ralphs, Adam joins seasoned musicians Dicky Baldwin (bass), Jim Maving (guitar) and Adam Perry (drums). The UK tour ends with Hereford Live at The Jailhouse, Hereford on 12th December, with support from local acts the Troy Redfern Band, Ria and Bren Haze.

Tickets for this gig can be purchased from The Jailhouse, Tobias James Art & Framing on St. Owen Street, or online at herefordlive.co.uk.

By now we hope you are all familiar with the fantastic work of Herefordshire community group Hereford Live. A group of dedicated people joining forces and determined to put Hereford on the live music map.

The Hereford Live group have been meeting regularly for some time now, discussing ideas and planning strategies to revive live music in the county. The group is formed of bands, venue owners, promoters and music fans who would love to see a return to Hereford playing hosts to touring household names.

“Hereford is no stranger to best-selling artists; bands from the Rolling Stones, Manic Street Preachers, Stereophonics and The Beautiful South, to Pulp, James, Two Door Cinema Club and The Wombats have played in Hereford over the years.” said Anthony Murphy of The Jailhouse. “Some of them played in the county during sell-out tours, others have played to small groups of people before they were signed or became household names. There are some incredible artists in Herefordshire, many of whom are destined for great things. We want to get as many people as possible to support the live music scene we have in Herefordshire – not only will they be seeing the talent of tomorrow now, it will help us to stage bigger events in the future too.”

Following a string of successful events since their launch night back in September of last year- Hereford Live are continuing to grow, as is their support. Once again Hereford Live are hosting a special event on our doorstep, an event bringing in touring acts from further afield and introducing Hereford to a wide array of talent, a night we wouldn’t have otherwise be able to witness.
