Atmospheric electronic duo Death Rattle are pleased to announce their new single ‘Weak Joints’, set for free download release on 13th October.

Taken from their forthcoming debut album, ‘In Shade’, due out on 10th November, the track marks the return of the London-based twosome, following their beautifully melancholic single, ‘Wait’, released earlier this year.

Whilst Helen Hamilton and Chris Hamilton have been writing and performing together for a number of years, it was late 2011 and a writing session in rural France that saw Death Rattle’s formation, after the pair’s musical tastes and inspiration leant towards a more electronic sound progressing from their previous output in alt-grunge trio That Mouth.

‘Weak Joints’ clearly demonstrates the duo’s ability to produce original, dark and atmospheric electro-pop, with a female vocal full of intention, complemented by an eerie yet powerful backing. Opening the track with a dark, womping bass line accompanied by industrial synths and pulsing 808s, courtesy of percussionist Chris, it doesn’t take long before Helen displays her top-line talents.
Prominent melody lines have always been a signature ingredient of their sound, and with ‘Weak Joints’ you’ll hear no exception. Compelling vocal harmonies support Helen’s captivating voice throughout, culminating in a moody yet hard-hitting chorus that confidently displays the band’s trademark gothic appeal.

“We’ve always maintained that Depeche Mode’s ‘Violator’ and Fever Ray’s self titled album were definite influences for us, but we’ve now progressed our sound into something that won’t be as easily compared to just one or two bands,” explains Helen (Death Rattle).

Amassing praise from fans and media alike with their noir-shaded take on the electronic pop genre, Death Rattle have garnered support from The Line of Best Fit, Clash, and The 405 amongst others, and their new material looks set to impress once again.

To celebrate the release of the free download single and hotly awaited debut album, the duo will embark on a UK and European tour that runs from November to December, and promises electrifying live performances from one of the most intriguing acts to have emerged from the capital in recent years.
