ANNOUNCE THEIR NEW SINGLE

‘STRUCTURES’ Out 8th September

“Reptile Youth have a playful spirit which is steeped in rock ‘n’ roll.”

Clash Magazine

“Still at its best, this deserves, even demands, to be heard, stolen or bought”

The Guardian

“Impeccably infectious”

The Line of Best Fit

Reptile Youth’s musical tour de force has been spreading far and wide in a very speedy manner. Having already caught the attention of The Guardian, Clash, The 405, The Line Of Best Fit and Artrocker along the way, the psychedelic indie duo are now ready to release their new single called Structures.

Structures is taken out of their latest record Rivers That Run For A Sea That Is Gone, and in just over 4 minutes it manages to present all the musical attributes only a great band can deliver. The song consists of the post-Libertinesbrittleness, the “old” Arctic Monkeys’ edgy authenticity and an ambitious and airy outro resembling the likes of Arcade Fire. No part of this song is left un-thought through, as from start to finish it’s a masterfully crafted vibrant indie piece.

Heart-felt lyrics talk about feeling stuck in one’s existence. Lead vocalist Mads says:

“The life that most of us are building seems to tie us to the ground, literally… Or to other things that make us so incredibly inflexible. We feel safe in the small systems that we make. Sometimes, however, they feel very limiting.”

Mads’ vocal style can easily be compared to the way Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood plays the guitar: energetic, noisy, and filled with just the right amount of attitude to constantly past one hundred percent.

Structures will be available for sale and download 8th September, and it will leave the listener wanting more ofReptile Youth’s sonic remedy to the perfect balance. After all, a bit of structure is good for everyone.
