The Black Angels unveil brand new video for ‘The Flop’
New release Clear Lake Forest out now via Blue Horizon

The Black Angels are excited to announce that their new offering Clear Lake Forest is out now via Blue HorizonClear Lake Forest saw a limited vinyl release on Record Store Day, but the 7-track set sees a much wider release today in a variety of formats, including 12″ clear vinyl, CD and digitally. To celebrate, the band has unveiled a video for ‘The Flop‘. The clip meshes the band’s performance of the song with some hypnotizing graphics.

NME gave the release an 8/10, saying that “The Black Angels’ psych scholarship pays dividends here.” Clear Lake Forest cut ‘Diamond Eyes‘ premiered via Consequence of Sound, who called it a “highly refined slice of blues-meets-psych-rock, with singer Alex Maas delivering his sun-baked croon over swirls of hazy feedback and guitars that zig-zag like rainbow-colored basilisks.”

Guitarist Christian Bland invites listeners to accompany him on a sonic journey: “After roaming through the Indigo Meadow, the time has come to journey to the Clear Lake Forest, where 7 tales of diamonds, executioners, and other strange occurrences await underneath the crystal waves lapping in the lake.”

Once again, The Black Angels (Christian Bland – guitar, drone machine/organ; Alex Maas – vocals, bass, organ, drone machine; Stephanie Bailey – drums, percussion; Kyle Hunt – keyboards, percussion, bass, guitar; Jake Garcia – guitar, bass) prove themselves the undisputed avatars of contemporary psychedelic rock, simultaneously exalting the genre’s kaleidoscopic past as they thrust it ever further into the future.
