“This self-titled effort (is) damn near essential” Big Cheese

Northcote – AKA Canadian songwriter Matt Goud – has announced extensive European touring plans with Chuck Ragan throughout May and June as well as details of his new single.

Following the huge run of gigs Matt did with Dave Hause across the UK and Europe late last year – Matt joins the shrapnel-throated Hot Water Music vocalist Chuck Ragan for his ‘Overseas Till Midnight’ tour – taking in a string of German and UK dates in May/June, with Italian and Austrian stops along the way.

To coincide with the tour, Northcote releases the stunning track ‘Counting Down The Days’ as a digital single on 28th June 2014. The track is taken from last year’s Xtra Mile Recordings self-titled album and is another eloquent blast of refined yet raw Americana.

Born and raised in small-town Saskatchewan, Northcote’s early exposure to music was a mix of traditional country on AM radio and the hymns he learned at his childhood church. However, it wasn’t until he discovered punk and hardcore music that he realized music’s healing and therapeutic power. Over the past 8 years, few young musicians in Canada have put on as many miles as Goud who toured for years as a member of a post-hardcore band and has more recently transitioned into life on the road as a singer/songwriter with accompaniment by an ever-rotating slew of guests and friend musicians.
