Forming in 2013, Lung Season are a four piece punk band hailing from Aberdeen in the bitterly cold North East of Scotland. The four long-term friends, having previously played and toured in the bands Hounds and Cavalcades, claim to have bonded over minor drinking problems, reggae CD’s and trying to maintain the façade of being proper people.
Focusing on melody and song structure as opposed to heavy mosh sections and punching their friends in the face, Lung Season’s debut record “2014” was written over just a few short practices and was recorded in less than 24 hours. This spontaneous, punk rock aesthetic undoubtedly forms a large part of the band’s sound but they also draw influence from the entire spectrum of punk with indie, emo and hardcore influences emanating from the three-track. All of these elements combined create a sound that is as unique as it is hard-hitting. “2014” is primed to set Lung Season up for an exciting year as they look to advance their reputation beyond the confines of the Scottish border.
