1505247_10153598234300133_790353857_nAs the countdown to the end of 2013 quickly approaches we take a personal look back on familiar names, features and musicians’ best releases of the past 12 months. Circuit Sweet will be featuring the featured artists of the site with their personal top 5 releases of the year.

The past 12 months truly has been an incredible year for releases, hard to follow last year in the records produced but this year has uncovered exceptional talent- most of which discovered, promoted and featured right here on this site.

In our end of year special we let our favorites take over the site to tell us the records that have made their end of year lists, their favorite events/gigs and what we can look forward to from them next year.

Kicking off the first of our Rad Releases feature are a talented trio we fell in love with during their set supporting Enemies earlier this year. We welcome We’re No Heroes. We’re No Heroes deliver the perfect mix of !!! (chk chk chk) style dance rock with some Data Select Party style gang vocals. An act simply bursting with potential!

A perfect pop album in a electronic dance format.

Atoms for Peace – AMOK

Daft Punk – Random Access Memories

The whole concept of bringing back a specific era & sound was timely. You can’t deny the funk. The musicianship on some of the tracks is next to none.

Arctic Monkeys – AM

The best gig you have played(or put on) this year and why

After releasing our last single Distort The Air in January we did a very special home town show in Cardiff. It was on the worst snow day of the year & all day we’d been waiting on word whether it would be given the go ahead or not. Finally it was given a green light however we expected the venue to be rather empty. To our surprise it was full capacity with a line out the door! It was super special as it was the first time we’d experienced fans singing back our songs at us from the crowd too!

The best gig you have attended and why

Swn Festival every year is a great one. It’s not just about great bands but the community around them. It’s a way of saying we’re not interested in music the masses are force fed, we want something organic, raw & real. I’ve seen some epic bands tear it up in Cardiff year after year. This year the KEYS show was massive for example!

2014 plans

We’re currently in pre-production for our next record at the moment & have assembled a talented team of studio engineers/producers excited to work with us. It’s been a truly great process thus far and we’re very pleased with what we have. The tracks are our strongest songs yet as we’ve really put our deepest selves into them so we can’t wait to get them down on record and release it to the world! We’ll then be taking it on the road for a tour so 2014 will be a big year for WNH!
We are thrilled that we discovered We’re No Heroes this year and look forward to their next record!!
