Willimantic, CT indie rockers The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die officially released their critically acclaimed new LP “Whenever, If Ever” today on Topshelf Records. The band is also premiering their new music video on Death + Taxes.

In talking with the magazine about the video, guitarist Greg Horbal explains, “Directed and edited by the brilliant Geoff Hoskinson, a sequence of nature scenes seems to possess unnatural and supernatural qualities. Intercut with stark minimal geometric scenes, this music video expresses a feeling of displacement and alternate realities / possibilities paired with a song about decaying rental property, LSD experiences, and the personification of a decades worth of punk show fliers.”

What others are saying about TWIABP’s Whenever, If Ever:

“…evoking the same sentimentally terse dynamics of ’90s hardcore offshoots like Sunny Day Real Estate, Cap’n Jazz, and Mineral.”- AllMusic

“…full of earnest, gut-wrenching passion and tricky but accesible soundscapes…these shimmering songs combine to create an accomplished debut of raw but beautiful grandeur.”- Alternative Press

“…a well thought out, lyrical genius of a release and was more than worth the wait … I’d argue that The World is a Beautiful Place & I am No Longer Afraid to Die are the Sigur Ros of their genre.”- Zine & Not Heard

“…there’s a notable level of maturity with the songcraft – especially considering this is their debut full-length… gorgeous post-rock/straight-up indie rock that helps distinguish The World is a Beautiful Place from their contemporaries… “- Gold Flake Paint

“A band so young making a record that is this moving and this powerful really makes me anticipate anything and everything that they will put out in the future.”
– Bearded Gentlemen Music

“While the record heavily features hallmarks of emo, it also touches on general indie rock and even on some post-rock atmospherics. I can’t say enough good things about this record. The production is spot on. It is adventurous musically and lyrically. The band has stepped up their lyric game beautifully….it is basically perfect.”
– Team Reasonable

“The World is a Beautiful Place & I am No Longer Afraid to Die’s ‘Whenever, If Ever’ is every bit the adventure that you hoped for when you first clocked their name…elaborately layered emo-rock…drenched in atmosphere and character. The diversity and sense of the unknown has been every bit as exhilarating as you had hoped. You listen again for a second, third and fourth time and you’re still finding new quirks and hidden hooks.”- Punktastic

“… this little band with a not-so-little name has changed the game for me…. The World is a Beautiful Place & I am No Longer Afraid to Die is full of post-rock guitars, grandiose climaxes, gorgeous decrescendos and crescendos, and swelling, triumphant strings. Pow. Right in the heartstrings. Pow. I’m blown away….a spectacularly powerful, instrumentally interesting, and incredibly emotionally satisfying effort.”- Sam Loves Music

“… one of the finest, most well put together records you’ll hear all year… entirely engrossing listen, one that you’ll want to revisit time and time again…. this is an absolute gem. (9/10)- Louder Now

“…one of the best records of the year … one of the most honest performances that will be put to record for a very long time.”- Already Heard

“This is a band that, while their recorded stuff is phenomenal, truly has to be witnessed live to grasp the complexities of their sound.”- Sanctuary Review
