GUNNING FOR TAMAR today release their brand new free download single, ‘Dark Sky Tourism’ (August 6th) through Alcopop Records, and continue a fine 2012, which has already seen them lauded as ‘one’s to slay 2012’ by Rock Sound, noted as ‘early Biffy Clyro wrestling with a bulked-up Future Of The Left’ by the NME, and given plenty of love from Radio 1, 6, XFM and Amazing.

The single can be streamed, freely downloaded and shared from this soundcloud link-

GUNNING FOR TAMAR are a new 4 piece from mighty Oxford town who have a new single, ‘Dark Sky Tourism’, set for release on August 6th, and it’s bloody brilliant. Recorded with Tom Stanley (The Cure, The Maccabees) and mixed by Chris Sheldon (Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, Oceansize), the track is being released as a free download on 6th August 2012.There was also a limited screen print designed by Johnny Foreigner’s artist (& guitarist) Lewes Herriot available to purchase to celebrate the release, but this sold out in pre-order.

GUNNING FOR TAMAR released their debut EP Deaf Cow Motel through Walnut Tree Records, selling out the first & second pressing and as Rock Sound put it, ‘toured the sh*t out of the UK’. They also went to Europe and played some shows. Their last couple of singles, released earlier this year (‘Time Trophies’ and ‘German Treasure Island’) received support from the likes of Huw Stevens on Radio 1, John Kennedy and Ian Camfield at XFM, BBC6 Music, NME TV and Scuzz TV. ‘Time Trophies’ was also released on a ground breaking new format…an orange watch, an actual watch.

Live wise, they play a lot of shows and sleep not a lot of the time, which gives them tired eyes but also extra time to release records and write hits. In the last year GUNNING FOR TAMAR played with the likes of Japandroids, Brontide, Johnny Foreigner, Tellison and toured Europe twice. This here has/will seen them play a host of festivals, headline dates, supports and more coming up across the summer, including 2000 Trees, Truck and Southsea Festivals.
