NY-based multi-instrumentalist Delicate Steve’s (Steve Marion) critically acclaimed sophomore album, Positive Force, is out now via Luaka Bop, and is currently streaming at NPR First Listen. Marion will perform at NYC’s South Street Seaport for Village Voice 4Knots Festival tomorrow, Saturday July 14 at 4pm, and will also play as part of the ‘Sound Waves on the Intrepid’ concert series next Wednesday, July 18. Playing alongside Red Baraat, Javelin, and MNDR, the free show commences the first in the summer series at NYC’s Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. The doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm. Admission is (21+).
In the midst of a national tour, Marion made an incredible appearance at last weekend’s High Sierra Festival where he joined Built to Spill onstage and replaced Doug Martsch’s lead guitar during the last song of the band’s set. Last month, 10 bands including Yeasayer, tUnE-yArDs, Ra Ra Riot and Givers, premiered a different track from Positive Force across their social media channels. The album stream followed his public installation listening event where playbutton devices housing one of Positive Force’s ten songs were placed in ten locations across Brooklyn and Manhattan. After touring this summer with Yeasayer and tUnE-yArDs, Delicate Steve will continue to perform in support of the LP, including upcoming shows with Givers, and sets at End of the Road, Electric Eclectics and Hopscotch Music Festivals.
