THE DIRTY HEADS ANNOUNCE FIRST UK SINGLE ‘SPREAD TOO THIN’

Set for release 8th July on Five Seven Music

Formed in Huntington Beach, CA, The Dirty Heads combine an intriguing mix of hip-hop, reggae and alternative rock with a sunny California swagger. They will be releasing their first UK single Spread Too Thin on 8th July through Five Seven Music and the band also make a trip to the UK next week in stripped-down acoustic form to play a special one-off set in London on 22nd May at South of The Border for a Big Cheese sponsored event. The show is free to all so make sure you get there early.

The band released their debut album, Any Port In A Storm in September of 2008, which features the hit track ‘Lay Me Down,’ a song that spent eleven weeks at #1 on the Billboard alternative chart, more than any single that year by any other artist. It is a certified gold single. The Dirty Heads have over 12 million music video views to date.

Second album Cabin by the Sea will be released later this year and was co-produced by Mario C and Lewis Richards – splitting time between Sonic Ranch Studios in Texas and 17th Street Recording Studios in Costa Mesa, CA. Maintaining the diversity from their first album, Cabin ranges from sunny acoustic pop (the title track) to hip-hop with mariachi horns (“Disguise”) and feel-good reggae (“Day by Day,” “Your Love”). Speaking of single “Spread Too Thin”, guitarist Dustin “Duddy B” Bushnell says “It’s about having too much going on, work or whatever is stressing you out. It’s about needing a breather in life.”

The album features several guest turns including Rome (from Sublime with Rome), Del the Funky Homosapien, Ky-Mani Marley and Hasidic hip-hop star Matisyahu.
