Introducing Alarmist

August 16, 2011
ALARMIST are an instrumental four-piece from Dublin, formed in 2008.
Consisting of Neil Crowley, Elis Czerniak, Osgar Dukes and Barry O’Halpin.
All members are multi-instrumentalists, playing an equal role in bringing together the organic and electronic elements that form their sound. This hugely talented band build their songs from tightly wound melodies and frenetic rhythms, a blend of interlocking guitars, glitchy electronics, duelling percussion and rich wind arrangements.

After just a handful of appearances, the sonic range and visual impact of their live show quickly gained Alarmist attention, with members intricately switching back and forth between instruments, often accompanied by live improvised projections from visuals duo Slipdraft.

So far this year, they have been cited as “Ones to Watch for 2011” on music sites State.ie and Ragged Words, as well as playing the Whelan’s Ones To Watch Festival and featuring in a live session on RTÉ Radio 1’s Arena.

Their self-titled debut EP is due to be released in Summer 2011 with their EP launch just days away.
